1. Who We Are

Valtiq (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides AI-powered business valuation reports to owners and operators of private companies. Our service is available at valtiq.com. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@valtiq.com.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account information: email address and password when you create an account.
  • Business information: company name, industry, revenue, EBITDA, headcount, business description, and any other details you enter when ordering a valuation report.
  • Payment information: processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your credit card number, CVV, or banking details.
  • Communications: any messages you send us via email or support channels.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps, and browser/device type.
  • Cookies and local storage: session authentication tokens and preference settings. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
  • Log data: IP address, referrer URL, and standard web server logs for security and performance monitoring.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate your valuation report using our AI model and third-party research tools.
  • To process your payment and send you a receipt and report delivery email.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Valtiq platform.
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To send transactional emails (report ready, account confirmations). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • To comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: Supabase (database hosting), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), Anthropic (AI report generation), and Vercel (hosting). Each is bound by confidentiality obligations and may only process your data to deliver their service to us.
  • Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
  • Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you by email before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.
  • With your consent: in any other case, only if you have explicitly agreed.

5. Business Information Confidentiality

We understand that the financial details and strategic information you provide are highly sensitive. We treat all business information you submit — revenue, EBITDA, ownership structure, strategic context — as strictly confidential. This data is used solely to generate your report and is never shared, sold, benchmarked in identifiable form, or disclosed to any third party other than the AI processing infrastructure necessary to produce the report.

AI processing is performed via Anthropic’s API. Per Anthropic’s enterprise API terms, your data is not used to train their models.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and generated reports for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide you with access to your report history. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data and report content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Payment transaction records are retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and access controls limiting who can access your data. Authentication is managed through Supabase with bcrypt password hashing. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure — we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

9. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication (session tokens) and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies from third parties. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling session cookies will prevent you from logging in.

10. Children’s Privacy

Valtiq is intended for business owners and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us at hello@valtiq.com and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (to the address associated with your account) and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Valtiq after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
